Kevin Prince Boateng Decisive Against Derby Reserves (Video)

72031420.jpgWell the “Ghetto Kid” set up one and scored a spectacular bicycle kick himself against Derby Reserves. Not much else in the highlight footage to be able to tell how his overall game looks, but if he’s playing in such advanced positions it can only be good our attacking midfield options. The bicycle kick …

Derby Match: Things Are Better The Second Time Around

analyse-that.jpgFans tend to argue about what viewing method gives you the best impression of a match. Being at the ground itself definitely allows you to see the big picture, watch formations, positioning, off the ball movement and generally the things you don't get from ball watching. Catching the match on the telly, though, let's you check out instant replays and spot things you may have missed the first time. The best solution, is both. And so after watching highlights of the Derby game a couple of times, there were a few things I didn't notice the first time and a huge amount of reinforcement for the stuff I did...

Tottenham 4-0 Derby: Man Of The Match?

Tottenham 4-0 Derby: Back on track or are Derby just that awful?

We lined up pretty close to how I wanted from a personnel standpoint (only one man off), and played exactly like I wanted from a tactical one as we took full advantage of a Derby side reminiscent of us last week. And the week before. Defenders: No point talking about defensive work, because what Derby put together could not be considered an attack. But even a half fit Lee reminded us how important he is to our formation. Confident on the ball, barely put a foot wrong, and makes a mockery of the idea that you have to have goals and assists to be a key attacking ingredient. Chimbonda was the same on the other side and actually won a couple of those far post headers for once.

TSW Team Tactics: Tottenham vs Derby

6419_1_905.jpgBefore each match The Spurs Wonderkid brings you his lineup and tactics recommendation, based roughly on what Martin Jol may actually be willing to try. Two formations tried, two utterly shambolic performances. In a time of injuries I'm a firm believer of going back to basics so, rather than continue to try and play Martin Jol's complex formation without the right players to make it work, I'm going for something a little more straightforward, although trying to put together a full 16 man squad really drove home how thin we are right now. Jol Out After Derby Game?

_42098034_jol416.jpg Sounds crazy, but that's the hot rumour right now on the Spurs forums. Another alleged ITK (In The Know) has said his nan's mum's milkman's daughter is friends with Daniel Levy's dog or ...
